Harrison Hot Springs
The Village of Harrison Hot Springs, a short drive from Vancouver, was incorporated in 1949 but since the village was on the Douglas Trail, Harrison Hot Spring’s history reaches back to the gold rush. The Coast Salish First Nations claim that the area is a “healing place”. Aside from healing, Harrison Hot Springs offers swimming, canoeing, boating, sailing, fishing, mountain biking, hiking and golfing. Children will enjoy the World Champion Sand Sculpture Classic held in early September and the whole family will enjoy July’s Festival of the Arts. First Nations carvings and intricate baskets made from red cedar are displayed at the Chehalis Community School.
Hemlock Valley Ski Resort has skiing in the winter and mountain biking in the summer. Don’t miss Sasquatch Provincial Park - you might not see the famed Sasquatch but there’s a good chance you’ll come across mountain goats on Sloolicum Bluffs on Deer Lake’s north side.
Harrison Hot Springs is definitely a hot place to visit!
