Swimming is another pastime – Skaha Beach has boat rentals and a boat launch. There’s also an unusual analemmatic sundial in the park. Your whole body tells the time with the Skaha Solar Timepiece. Okanagan Lake is the home of the famed Ogopogo, concession stands and a huge playground for the children. Sport fanatics will enjoy waterskiing, parasailing, paddle boating, jet skiing, canoeing, kayaking, windsurfing and kitesurfing on the lake. The less ambitious will enjoy a ride down the Okanagan River Channel on an Innertube, a stroll on the boardwalk or dinner and entertainment on the Casabella Princess docked at the Okanagan Lake Marina.

But most of all Penticton is for wine and festival lovers! The area has 99 wineries on 7,400 acres of vineyards, The Spring Wine Festival, Meadlowlark Festival, Children’s Festival and Okanagan Symphony: Video Games Live are held in May; the 8th Annual Elvis Fest and the Peach City Beach cruise in June; Canada Day Celebrations and the Beach Blanket Film Festival in July and to top it all off the 27th Annual Mr. Muscle & Miss Bikini Contest is held in early August!
