Marsh Harbour
Marsh Harbour is the major tourist center in the Abacos. The population is app. 5,300 and growing – soon there’ll be a second traffic light! Harbour’s beaches aren’t spectacular but Ferries connect the town to the other Loyalist Cays and within a few mile radius you’ll find beaches as enchanting as Treasure Island. Marsh Harbour is a springboard for arranging boating, swimming, snorkeling, kayaking and guided naturalist excursions. Duty-free shopping, quality boutiques and gift shops, locally made arts and crafts and tourist shops where you can get gifts to take home to family and friends. Like most places in the Bahamas you can purchase fish fresh off the docks and light up a Cuban cigar – if you’re not from the U.S. you can purchase cigars at a reasonable price and tuck them in your suitcase.
